This lovely little lady is Poppet, a three-year-old lurcher currently in foster with Lurcher SOS, but all booted up and ready for her forever home (and couch). What’s more, her handlers say she mixes well with people and other dogs.

Lurchers are affectionate, loveable and enjoy a bit of fun. They are quick learners, great companions and perfect for families who enjoy getting outdoors. We know from experience that one walk a day will suffice, although two is better (for all concerned). Lurchers are quick, agile dogs that like nothing more than to charge around on open ground. Once back home, though, they are generally docile creatures, happy to curl up on the sofa or lie flat out on their backs, paws pointed skywards.

Of Poppet, Lurcher SOS says:

Gorgeous ex-poundie Poppet is in foster with many other dogs and gets along so well with them. She is a small girl, standing 23in to the shoulder. Poppet is clean and non destructive and can be left. We think she is three years old. She loves to lie around but also loves her exercise. We think Poppet would be happy living with other dogs or as an only dog. Poppet is vaccinated and neutered and would love her very own forever sofa soon.

While based in the south of England, Lurcher SOS has re-homed dogs as far afield as Scotland and Wales.

Go on, give a deserving dog a home.
