San Diego’s The Honest Kitchen has refreshed its range of human-grade foods for dogs
California-based The Honest Kitchen, a maker of human-grade food for cats and dogs, has announced what it calls its “biggest product launch ever”.
Among the new products in the company’s range are two new limited ingredient diets, two new complete meal flavours, new single-serve cups and a refreshed line up of treats Hope and Spruce are the two new products in The Honest Kitchen’s limited ingredient diets. Both contain a single protein as the main ingredient – ranch-raised beef or cage-free duck. They have been developed for pets that show sensitivities towards many of the more common pet food ingredients and are grain free. Beef and fish are the new flavours in the company’s Proper Topper range of complete and balanced foods, which contain antioxidant-rich whole foods intended to provide a nutritional boost.
Next month will see the introduction of the company’s new range of single-serve cups. All whole foods in the range are 100% human grade and free of BPA and preservatives.
The latest additions to The Honest Kitchen treat line-up includes training, functional and anytime treats. The grain-free training treats come in the form of breakable heart-shaped cookies, each weighing in with just eight calories.
The company’s functional treats have been developed with health purposes in mind, such as for healthy teeth or improved digestion, being a good source of Omega 3. The Honest Kitchen’s founder and CEO Lucy Postins is a companion animal nutritionist, who founded the company in her home kitchen back in 2002.
