Shake Paws is a source of news, advice and product information for dog owners everywhere. The global nature of the web is our friend in this respect.
Shake Paws was born because we couldn’t find a website that satisfied our needs, one that gathered all this information in one place, one that tackled sometimes difficult topics head-on, and one that introduced cool, often specialist, products made by small businesses and local crafts people. One of our goals is to find these amazing people and their products and showcase them here at the home of dogs.
Shake Paws is a young site. But we’re working hard to build and expand, and talking to other dog owners every day to discover their needs. We’d like to hear from you, too. If you have any suggestions, feel free to send us an email, or talk to us on Facebook, Twitter or Google+. We’d love to hear from you.
Who’s behind Shake Paws?
First and foremost, we’re dog owners, just like you. The current incumbent in the Shake Paws family is Roma, a lurcher; prior to that we had Jem, also a lurcher. You could say we like lurchers. We’ve also had dogs in our respective families since we were children, including a Jack Russell terrier and a number of mongrels. When they arrived on our doorsteps – some of them in a very sorry state – each and everyone had found their forever homes.
Shake Paws’ founders Jeff and Jane Porter have spent their entire careers in magazine and book publishing. They wanted to set up their own little venture, so they chose their favourite subject – dogs – and here we are! Shake Paws is a young, new venture, and a lot of hard work lies ahead. Here are just a few of the things in Shake Paws’ future:
- Guest writers from specialist fields, such as dog groomers, photographers, rescuers, trainers, vets and other dog specialists.
- Information about rescues, make that lots of information.
- Competitions and giveaways.
- Links to a vast selection of natural dog food products.
- Showcases for exceptional products – like Charley Chau’s dog beds.
We hope you enjoy your visits to Shake Paws. Please come back regularly to check out our new content. You can also stay up to date by subscribing to our RSS feed, liking our Facebook page or following along on Twitter.
